Proposal stories are some of our favorite memories to capture. Whether down on one knee or bucking tradition, these clients from the past year prove that proposals are moments worth documenting!
Do you remember when you first popped the question?
"I remember talking to her parents, and I was very nervous, even though I was over there all the time. It wasn’t a big surprise. I asked for their blessing and thankfully, I got it! My mother knew the place to go and helped me pick out a ring I could afford. I don’t remember actually proposing. It was just us and it may have been outside her house. All I remember is her answer!”~ Barry C.
“A big group of us were at Butch McGuires on Division, and I was drinking Harvey Wallbangers and may have been a little over-served! I turned to her and said, ‘You’re a good shit—I’d like to marry you.’ So romantic. I’m not sure what possessed me to say it, but she said yes and I remember thinking, what just happened?!? Not that I regret asking her for a second, she was the only woman I had ever really cared for, but it was unplanned and I even shocked myself.” ~Nick T.
“I knew Bill was the one. We were talking about our future together. The proposal itself was pretty straightforward, just like him. He came to pick me up to go to a restaurant and just presented this ring with a ‘Here it is!’ I didn’t mind. I was happy.” ~Norma V.

“I told the jeweler, ‘I think I’m going to get married!’ He asked what size and I realized I didn’t know. He fixed me up and I left with a ring. I had scouted the location earlier and found a nice spot outside a restaurant with a huge tree in the shade. But then it was too hot, and the car had no air conditioning, so we went inside the restaurant for a drink and I just sprung it on her. I said, ‘Here's a ring, let's get married. It's now or never!’ I was dead serious. She wavered, but then she said yes. She tried on the ring and it fit!” ~Carlo V.
"Tony received orders and was being called away someplace. He called me and said, 'If we get married, I won't have to go!' He spoke to my father, but there was no down-on-one-knee moment. We had a short engagement but none of that mattered to me. I knew I loved him." - Tina S.
“She had deep faith and strong family values. We went for a walk one afternoon and talked about having a family together someday. It was clear we were both ready to take the next step. I didn’t have a nickel to my name, so whatever I had, I used to buy her a ring. It wasn’t much, but she still wears it on her finger today! My family was thrilled. Everyone loved her. I mean, who wouldn't? ~Jim D.
